What We Do
Abundance is an organisation that promotes public-common strategies to democratise the economy and realise a just socio-ecological transition for everyone. Democratising the economy means putting more economic power in the hands of organised communities. A just socio-ecological transition is the process of moving to a society in which everyone can live dignified lives within our planet's ecological boundaries.

Bottom-up Development Services
Abundance offers what we call a ‘community triage’ service, working with organised communities interested in developing public-common strategies. After an initial discussion and scoping of potential project pathways, we aim to build long-term relationships which help communities realise their ambitions. Our Support for community-led development projects includes political, economic and operational strategies, architectural design, feasibility studies and counterfactual economic modelling, co-design of governance models, and supporting the development of community plans. If you are part of an organised community and are interested in developing a public-common strategy, get in touch.
2
Policy & Strategy Development
Abundance works with councillors and officers in local and regional authorities to develop public-common strategies from inception through to delivery. Our support ranges from scoping and evaluating prospective interventions to the design and implementation of policy frameworks, community wealth-building strategies and built environment projects. At all stages of project delivery, we assist authorities in fostering collaborations with organised communities to ensure projects deliver the maximum benefit to local people. If you work in local government and would like to understand how we can help you, get in touch.

Critical Research Partnerships
Abundance is an organisation that works across the divide between the university and civil society, and we have extensive experience of the demands of the academic funding environment. We are interested in exploring collaborations that help to ensure academic research delivers meaningful impacts. Our team has a long history of research collaborations with a wide range of organisations such as the Transnational Institute (Netherlands), the New Economics Foundation, CarbonCoop, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, La Hidra Cooperativa (Spain), Remix theCommons (France), and more.
