Abundance members Bertie Russell and Keir Milburn attended a two-day research Charette at the University of Cambridge Architecture Department this week. The Charette organised by Peak Urban brought together theorists and practitioners from around the globe around the topic of Experimental Properties. Bert and Keir presented on the Public-Common Partnerships and the work of Abundance. Others presented on topics such as the Berlin Housing Movement's attempts to socialise 250,000 properties, the idea of property as a bundle of sticks, and the question: could a house own itself? The innovative form of a charette then allows participants to work on each other’s problems, producing new angles and ideas from the interchange.
